ECM-trained advisers provide a completely objective perspective on your school or academy. This will be an evaluation in partnership with your senior leadership team, and as a result, you will be confident in your school’s strengths and areas for improvement.

Based on the new inspection framework, ECM associates will complete:

• Preparation for the visit, including curriculum information supplied by the school, the school’s self-evaluation and development planning, as well as SEND, absence and attendance, school attainment and progress data from the IDSR.
• On-site visit to conduct the review, focusing on key areas identified through the preparation process and agreed by the school. This includes deep dives, interviews with the headteacher, senior and subject leaders and pupils, as well as lesson visits and book scrutiny.
• A summary of findings report indicating clear areas of strength and areas for development.
• Schools can choose, with guidance, from a list of ECM-accredited associates to complete this work.

We will work with you over a number of days depending on the size of your school, planning the review with you in a pre-visit telephone call, completing deep dives into subjects in school, evaluating the Quality of Education, Leadership, Early Years, Behaviour and Attitudes, and Personal Development.
• We will review your IDSR, SEF and SDP as well as curriculum documentation, complete interviews with leaders, observations of teaching, pupil and staff interviews resulting in an accurate review of your evaluation of your school completed with you.
• We validate your school’s own judgements in assessing the effectiveness of leadership and management, the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and the quality and standards of early years provision.
• A detailed report is provided, outlining strengths and areas for improvement. School judgements are validated.

This service also provides CPD for school leaders on conducting self-evaluation activities and delivering feedback, along with a full written report on strengths and areas for improvement.
