This one-day review in your school, with an ECM consultant working alongside your leaders, will provide a critical and supportive process to evaluate the effectiveness of one of your subjects, and identify areas of strength and actions for development. Evidence will be collated in a written report to inform your school’s monitoring and evaluation, and to develop leadership in driving school improvement.

One day in school, preparation, and a Note of Visit evaluating one specific subject within the curriculum. This could be Mathematics, English, Science, PE, Music, Geography, History, etc.

Prior to the visit, an ECM consultant will analyse school documents, including the SEF, IDSR, ASP, and specific subject material provided by the school.

During the day in school, we will use a variety of ECM documents to judge the effectiveness of provision and outcomes for the chosen subject. Activities will include observations of teaching, interviews with school leaders, including governors and pupils, book scrutinies, learning walks, and analysis of school monitoring evidence and curriculum planning.

All these activities are carried out alongside your school staff, ensuring high-quality professional development and a clear, transparent, shared approach. After the visit, a report will be written detailing the strengths and areas for improvement.
